tl;dr: NFT FM is becoming Fanfare, you can now access the platform on beta.fanfare.fm and continue to browse, list, and buy.
We’ve learned a lot in the past couple months running NFT FM. Through building out the platform to watching a community rise around the concept of financial freedom for musicians.
In pursuit of our goal —making music NFTs easy and accessible to all— we’ve consistently run into two problems:
- Most music fans aren’t familiar with the crypto toolkit required to purchase NFTs (MetaMask, Coinbase, etc.)
- Fluctuating Gas prices restricts the minting and purchasing of lower-cost NFTs
This is why we’re excited to announce our upgrade and rebranding.
Upgrade
We have been searching for a blockchain that allows the seamless and easy purchasing of NFTs, and decided to use FLOW.
Flow is home to some of the largest projects in the NFT space, including NBA Topshot and CryptoKitties. Flow is growing at an incredible pace partnering with the likes of Google to help scale their infrastructure.
But what what we’re most excited about is the fiat onboarding that FLOW provides. In using flow, new users will be able to come to the platform and purchase NFTs with Credit Cards. This opens up the
By continuing to build on Flow, we will be able to offer the first customer friendly music NFT experience, allowing artists and fans who aren’t crypto-native to be able to participate in this technological revolution.
We plan to launch our first set of Flow music NFT sales by November 10th.
Rebranding
We’ve decided to rebrand as Fanfare due to the core tenants of our philosophy that the name represents.
Fanfare represents music — we are dedicated to serving musicians
Fanfare represents fans — we are platform where fans can find the best collectibles and experiences that can be collected
Fanfare represents fairness — we continue our history of transparency and fair payment distribution
and last but not least, Fanfare speaks to joy.
